London tech-house party promoters Mulletover announced a last minute change of venue to their 8th birthday celebrations tonight (Thursday May 5) after a man was brutally attacked at a Blackberry VIP party at the Pulse nightclub several days earlier.

Press reports described how a man ‘collapsed in a pool of blood’ after being slashed across his neck by another man at the press/ VIP event packed with TV celebrities and headlined by pop star Jessie J.

“I didn’t see what happened, the first I knew about it was it all went quiet and I realised people had gathered round something and I could see a man with blood pouring out of his throat,” TV actor Kenny Solomons, who helped the victim by wrapping a towel around his neck, told the Daily Mail.

“There was an immense amount of blood. It was like nothing I’d ever seen before, it didn’t seem real,” he added.

Police cordoned off the entire club for hours and interviewed each of the 450 guests one by one as they left, and continued their investigation forcing Mulletover to relocate.

“Due to an in incident at a Motorola event at Pulse on Tuesday this week, the police have sealed off the whole of the venue to finish off critical forensic analysis. Despite best efforts to persuade them to allow us to hold the event there, they confirmed today at 4.30pm that the event would not be allowed to go ahead,” Mulletover explained in a statement.

“Obviously we were slightly unnerved by this, as there aren’t  many spaces in London that you can relocate 2400 people to, but cancelling the show was never an option for us,” they added.

“We’ve lost venues before at the last minute and we’ve always kept the party going. We certainly wouldn’t let something like this overshadow our 8th Birthday,” they vowed.

“After several frantic calls to venue owners, we have re-located to The Coronet, a venue that we know has one of the best main rooms in London and a great sound system.”

Mulletover added that the Coronet holds 200 more revellers than Pulse and said ‘we can accommodate a few more people if you have friends who wish to pay on the door. ‘

Carl Craig, Geddes and Gavin Herlihy headline.
