Chelsea Club Blasts ‘Boring’ East London
London party organisers Ritual published a bullish press release promoting their events at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge nightclub Under The Bridge, this week, suggesting their monthly party will soon become ‘a rite of passage for any electronic music enthusiast’.
“At a time when electronic music is such a dominant force, an acute emphasis on sound and visuals is imperative and this is something the venue very much prides itself on,” they explained on their press release for the March 9 party.
“The 500 capacity venue and its location in the heart of West London (located beneath Chelsea Football Club’s stadium), offers a much-needed fresh alternative to east London’s over-saturated and monotonous market.”
The £20m pound club was built by Roman Abramovich in several and was originally intended to cater to 500 of the Russian oligarch’s ‘close friends’, the Standard reported in 2010. The space, underneath the football club’s East Stand was previously occupied by a nightclub called Purple.
