Berlin Chalet’s Cabinet of Wonders (April 24)
Acclaimed experimental Berlin ambient-tech types Acid Pauli & NU headline a new arts/ electronic music event at Kreuzberg’s Chalet Club next week, which organisers promise will present ‘a patchwork of creative works from various performers and artists to actualize an enchanting evening filled with enlightenment and discovery.’
Chalet’s new monthly event (Chalet’s Cabinet of Wonders- which happens on Wednesday April 24 for the first time) is intended to provide a rendezvous point for Berlin’s arts and music scene, the accompanying press release promises, also adding ‘the audience is not invited to party but to experience a playful labyrinth of discoveries starting early evening.’
Organiser Clara Ouchene explained their ‘non-party’ concept.
“You come to the event to experience something different and to be surprised, it’s a labyrinth of discoveries,” she said, “you can also dance but it’s not the main purpose of the event.”
Discoveries on offer for the first event include light illuminations by Sirene Photona from Zurich, Jane Fondue aka Tina Loosli, founder of Partyfood, who ‘revisits the concept of drinking shots’ and a DJ set from Chalet owner Danny Faber, who made his name previously founding Bar 25.
“It’s going to be a huge chill-out in a club,” Clara continued.
“Cabinet of Wonders is a concept I have created specifically for Chalet and we’re doing it together, it’s an internal and external collective project.
“We’ll be transforming the club with ephemeral and semi-permanent installations that we change every few months, gradually transforming the whole club,” she said.
