Germany Calling Expands to 2 Hours on Pioneer DJ Radio
Skrufff’s weekly radio show Germany Calling is launching a 2 hour edition on new radio station Pioneer DJ Radio, adding exclusive mixes from both cutting edge upcoming DJ and legendary pioneers of underground club culture.
Berliner underground tech (house) types Oliver Deutschmann, Mad Motormiquel, Namito and Benny Grauer will be providing mixes for the first few shows, with additional sets lined up from the likes of Brazilian tech icon Renato Cohen, Utah Saints and UK electro pioneer Stephen Mallinder of Cabaret Voltaire infamy.
Regular show hosts Fidelity Kastrow and Jonty Skrufff will also be delivering exclusive sets alongside fellow Sisyphos residents Julian N More, Foolik and more.
“We’re very happy that Pioneer DJ Radio have given us the opportunity to include DJ mixes on Germany Calling and we’re aiming to provide sets from a wildly eclectic selection of DJs, reflecting the diversity of music we already play on the show,” says Jonty Skrufff.
“So for example, we have a brand new killer tech-house set from Oliver Deutschmann, which we recorded live at Sisyphos last weekend when he played a secret gig there, and another one coming up soon from New York disco legend Johnny Dynell.”
“The emphasis is on quality and cutting edge alternative, imaginative music, provided by the best DJs with a special emphasis on those from Berlin’s thriving underground party scene,” he says.
Show times are Friday afternoons 14.00-16.00 CET, Berlin time (that’s 1pm-3pm London time) and Sunday evenings 19.00-21.00 Berlin time (6pm-8pm London time). This weekend (Friday July 26 and Sunday July 28) Benny Grauer is the guest DJ.
