Pioneer Launch Sound System with a Booom!
Pioneer unveiled details of their plans to enter the superclub sound system market this week, revealing that Gary Stewart of Gary Stewart Audio (GSA), has been closely involved in developing their new pro-audio’s flagship sound system.
Pioneer’s Alex Barrand, the sound engineer behind the Ministry of Sound London’s award-winning sound system upgrade in 2008, spoke enthusiastically about the link-up with GSA who previously installed systems in Singapore’s Zouk and Club Vertigo in Costa Rica.

“We didn’t just want to enter the market; we wanted to be the best in the market. So we gathered the dream team: Pioneer’s pro-Audio R&D expertise combined with GSA and Powersoft’s club system credentials. You have to hear it to believe it,” Alex enthused.
“We’re installing the flagship sound system in a number of world-famous clubs in Ibiza and beyond, including a complete club re-fit, which we’ll be announcing in the coming weeks.” http://www.pioneerproaudio.com
Clubbers will be able to hear the system in action for the first time next Tuesday (July 9) at Danny Whittle and Mark Netto’s new Ibiza club which this week confounded competitors by suddenly changing their name at the 11th hour from Bomba to Booom!
Yousef, Lucinano, Behrouz and Ryan Marciano are amongst DJs hosting nights at the relatively small 1,000 capacity club which is backed by restaurant magnate Giuseppe Cipriani.
“It has been such a pleasure for myself, Mark and our team to work with Giuseppe on Booom!” Danny Whittle said in a press release announcing the new club name and official start date.
“It’s been a long road but now we are so ready for a summer of great music, company and fun,” he added.
Andy Baxter is the club’s first official resident.
