Next Generation Brit Girls ‘Want To Be Paris Hilton’
Under-25 girls in Britain ‘are obsessed with looking like Paris Hilton’ and reality TV celebrities, the Daily Mail reported this week, citing various experts on youth culture and fashion.
‘Girls report a great hostility to anyone who doesn’t look the same,” York University academic Abigail Tazzyman told the Mail, “‘The spectrum of what is acceptable is very small.”
Shout magazine’s ex agony aunt Cathy Cassidy concurred.
“All the goth, emo and indie-kid things appear to have faded out,” she noted, “There seems a desperate desire to conform and be accepted.”
Paris, meanwhile, took a step closer to becoming the new Avicii/ Deadmau5/ Tiesto/ Kevin & Perry style superstar DJ this week, ignoring internet haters to pull off an apparently effortless triumphant debut at Ibiza superclub Amnesia.
Speaking before her set on Twitter she declared herself ‘So nervous and excited all at once!’ sounding notably relieved soon after when she successfully pressed one of her key buttons.
“What an incredible night at my #FoamAndDiamonds party at Amnesia Ibiza! Everyone was having the best time!” she Tweeted, “Just sprayed the foam! #YES.”
“Tonight was one of the most fun & incredible nights of my life! Loved seeing everyone smiling,” she later added, “Best party ever tonight at amnesia ibiza! Never seen it so packed & full of amazing energy!”
