US evangelical group RAVE Ministrieshave launched a new campaign called No Makeup November which aims to give female cosmetic users the chance to ‘relish every opportunity possible to see the true beauty that God has breathed in them.’
“For the 30 days of November we will go to war. Every morning when we awake and are tempted to head straight for our makeup bags that we have hidden away in our closets we will think of our Creator,” Rave promised in a statement on their new website.
“Join Rave Ministries for No Makeup November and allow God to paint your face each day with the joy that comes from being a daughter of the King!” they begged.
“Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain. But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.” RAVE added (quoting from the Bible: Proverbs 31:30)..
The new campaign coincided with non-religious keep it real beauty campaign ‘No Shave November Girls’ which itself spun off from wildly successful men’s group No Shave November.
“Ladies! Don’t think that just because you can’t grow a burly beard you can’t participate in No Shave November You can! “ the group promised in their ‘Girls Rules of the Game’ instructions on their own campaigning website.
“The most commonly sported female hair is on the legs and under the arms. Now its quite uncommon for even males in our society to be unkempt in general, but its especially uncommon for females to go all natural. So we want to give you a special word of encouragement and thanks for supporting the ways of the hairy.
