CIA Hired Nazi Scientists To Weaponise LSD & Bubonic Plague
US secret service agents recruited top Nazi scientists to develop sarin gas cluster bombs and weaponized bubonic plague as well as to interrogate Russian spies with LSD, according to a new book by American investigative. journalist Annie Jacobsen.
Writing in ‘Operation Paperclip: The Secret Intelligence Program that Brought Nazi Scientists to America’, Ms Jacobsen quoted from post war documents describing how the CIA set up an interrogation centre in Germany in 1946 at which suspects were given LSD acid and hypnotised in a project known as Operation Paperclip.
The decade long project was headed up by Dr. Walter Schreiber, the former Surgeon General of the Third Reich, with many of the other 20 scientists also being close associates of Hitler, she says in the book (RawStory: http://bit.ly/NFZ7Lm )
The book was published just as details emerged of how other war time German scientists at carried our experiments on weaponising mosquitoes to spread malaria at Dachau concentration camp.
Study chief Dr Klaus Reinhardt has reportedly discovered that Himmler reportedly established the ‘Dachau entomological institute to study the physiology and control of insects that inflict harm to humans’ in 1942.
Scientists there carried out experiments to find out how long they could keep mosquitoes alive without food and studied which breeds were most effective in spreading diseases, carrying out tests on Dachau inmates. (Thelocal.de http://bit.ly/Mj5D9T )
