Pan-Pot; Tracks of My Time (interview)
Skrufff introduces a new Q&A series asking a bunch of our favourite DJs and friends what their favourite, not so favourite and life-defining tracks are. This week, Berlin tech/ house duo Pan-Pot share their selection.
Skrufff: Your all-time favourite club track? (why?)
Pan-Pot (Thomas): “Green Velvet – Flash (The Advent & Industrialyzer Remix)
Because we both like it, it never gets boring and it destroys the whole club.”
Skrufff: The track you’ve finished a set with the most often?
Pan-Pot (Tassilo): “Bibio – Lovers Carving (Cats n Dogs edit). It’s such a great track, everybody loves it and it makes all good ends even better.”
Skrufff: The track you cleared the floor with (what happened when?)
Pan-Pot (Thomas): “Actually we never had that happen to us. Sounds a little conceited but it is like that (laughing).”
Skrufff: The track you rescued a floor/ dancefloor with?
Pan-Pot (Tassilo): “Hinz&Rumhardt – Doch. Will be released on our label and is the rescue killer.”
Skrufff: The cheesiest/ guiltiest secret track you love? (and why you love it and what it means to you?)
Pan-Pot (Thomas): “Avicii – Hey Brother. I don’t know why I like it but it makes me crazy (in a good way).”
Skrufff: The track that you loved that everyone hated?
Pan-Pot (Tassilo): “Ducksauce – Barbara Streisand. But we only liked it for one week. We even played it, but before it got big.”
Skrufff: The track that everyone else loved that you hated?
Pan-Pot (Thomas): “Samim – Heater. We hated that track from the first day on,”
Skrufff: Anything you’d like plugging?
Pan-Pot (Tassilo): “We’ll launch our label, called Second State in March and are really excited about it. We spent a lot of effort and time in the whole setup and music, so we’re looking forward to give birth to our lil baby.”
