Tracks of My Time: Namito- Daft Punk is Great Cheese (interview)
Skrufff introduces a new Q&A series asking a bunch of our favourite DJs and friends what their favourite, not so favourite and life defining tracks are.
The series kicks off with Berlin underground tech-house legend Namito.
Skrufff: Your all-time favourite club track? (Why?)
Namito: “Aztek Mystique – Knights Of The Jaguar. I can feel that there was no intention “to make a hit” and that’s what makes this track absolutely unique and timeless.”
Skrufff: The track you’ve finished a set with the most often?
Namito: “Probably the bootleg I did with Sierra Sam of XX’s Crystalized performed by Gorillaz!”
Skrufff: The track you cleared the floor with (what happened when?)
Namito: “I would not tell you which track even if I ever emptied the dance floor.”
Skrufff: The track you rescued a floor/ dancefloor with?
Namito: I have a secret how to save shaky nights: I start to play only stuff I absolutely enjoy most and then people kind of feel it, too! But I don’t believe that you can name a track that would always save your night.
Skrufff: The cheesiest/ guiltiest secret track you love? (And why you love it and what it means to you?)
Namito: “I absolutely love Get Lucky by Daft Punk cause it never failed to make me feel good. I don’t give a fuck about anybody saying it is cheesy! It is great cheese.”
Skrufff: The track that you loved that everyone hated?
Namito: “Skrillex – First Of The Year.”
Skrufff: The track that everyone else loved that you hated?
Namito: “Underworld – Born Slippy: I just never got that tune.”
Skrufff: What’s coming up?
