US Mayor Agitates Against Avicii
Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh promised to consider banning Avicii from his city this week after 36 revellers attending one of his events were hospitalised suffering from ‘intoxication’.
“I’d have to look and see as far as banning goes, but that’s something I’d want to have a serious conversation about,” the Mayor told the Boston Herald, “I know that in other places, there have been problems at his concerts.” (http://bit.ly/1rtPssc )
The Mayor’s comments appeared just as Avicii was labeled the 47th of Forbes magazine’s ‘World’s Most Powerful Celebrities’ in their latest annual list, decided in particular on the $28million the EDM celebrity was estimated to have earned last year.
“He continues to clean up on the road, taking home six-figure sums every time he spins at a club,” Forbes explained, “which he did 80 times during our scoring period alone.” (http://onforb.es/THAosc )
