808 State DJ Jailed After Being Terrorised by Drug Dealer
“Whatever the fear you had for your family you should have been man enough, at your age, to resist. Instead you chose to peddle drugs which cause misery to people and a cycle of crime.” (Manchester Evening News)
A Manchester Crown Court judge jails Darren Partington from Manchester acid house legends 808 State to 18 months in prison after the DJ was caught selling street wraps of cocaine and heroin to pay off a £300 debt to a vicious dealer who was terrorising him and his family.
Darren joined 808 State in 1989 when Guy Called Gerald quit and was reportedly earning just £7000 (EUR8,000) a year as a self employed DJ at the time of his arrest.
