‘Original Nightstalker’ Search Overlooks Ted Cruz
FBI officials announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of notorious California serial killer ‘the Original Night Stalker’ this week, though failed to reveal whether they’re targeting failed Republican Presidential candidate and infamous Zodiac Killer suspect Ted Cruz.
The still at large sex fiend launched a reign of terror in California several years after the Zodiac Killer dropped out of sight, ratcheting up 12 homicides and 45 rapes before he similarly vanished.
“This person ruined a great number of lives, and he should be held accountable,” investigating sleuth Sgt. Paul Belli declared in a statement released on the FBI’s official Help Wanted page.
“Everyone was afraid,” Special Agent Marcus Knutson recalled.
“We had people sleeping with shotguns, we had people purchasing dogs. People were concerned, and they had a right to be. This guy was terrorizing the community. He did horrible things.”
Soon after Cruz suspended his campaign in the presidential race in May, a cryptic message appeared on respected Facebook portal ‘Ted Cruz Is The Zodiac Killer’, saying ‘I dropped out to pursue my true passion of killing people,’ though Sergeant Belli appeared unaware of the candid confession.
“Just like any homicide investigation, our lifelines are people who give us information. It all boils down to people helping,” he said, adding that he hoped the new $50,000 reward could finally motivate someone to come forward.
“It may push somebody over the edge who knows something. It could provide us with that one tip we need.”
