Barefoot Doctor Bit: Is It Sometimes Necessary To Be Bad?

.

Barefoot Doctor: “Firstly you have to remember good and bad are merely relative terms – murder, for instance is as bad as you can get, the worst crime of all, yet a soldier who murders enough enemy combatants on the battlefield gets a medal. Good and bad are all to do with context in other words.

However, by respecting all life and the freedom of others to decide for themselves and by focusing on how to contribute to the good of all rather than how everyone is contributing to you, you put yourself in the flow of the ‘Great Way’, the creative energy of existence and success comes in everything you do.

Any time you act without respect for the sanctity of all life and the freedom of others to choose for themselves, you cut yourself off from the flow and harm will eventually befall you. So while you may get a short term result from being unethical, in the longer term it will only bring you misery.

Barefoot Doctor Bit: Is It Better To Have No Friends Than Only Fake Friends?

Click on the picture for more from Barefoot

Barefoot Doctor: “Yes it’s better to have no friends than fake friends. On the other hand, it’s always good to be friendly with everyone but naturally attaining to a genuine sisterhood or brotherhood level friendship implying a balanced, healthy degree of reciprocity with someone is rare.

Hanging out with people who are just taking from you and giving nothing back is best avoided, but if you find yourself in that position, don’t be too downhearted as everything you give with a good heart will come back to you multiplied from someone or other further down the line.

However if you persist in consorting with fakers and takers, it will eventually drain your energy and run interference on the way things are going for you. The best gauge is your own intuition – stay sensitive to what you’re feeling there (in your waters, as they used to say in the old days).

Whenever around anyone you’re unsure of, if you feel discomfort, anxiety and or tension close off and walk away. But do so graciously, as no points are won through confrontation with someone who isn’t being themselves and doesn’t care about you anyway.”

Barefoot Doctor’s Bit: Is Bingeing Good For The Soul?

Click for more Barefoot bits

.

Barefoot Doctor: Excess and fasting are two extremes. If you follow either to its conclusion, it’ll either lead to its opposite (according to the law of yin and yang) or if sufficiently excessive, to death. That’s obvious.

In themselves, neither excess or austerity are good (or bad) for the soul. What’s good for the soul, is leaving the soul to do what it does best which is witnessing the pendulum swing. When identified with that which it witnesses, it becomes fairly impossible to reach dangerous extremes in either direction because the soul’s basic nature is one of equanimity/equilibrium.

The important thing is not to punish yourself for bingeing (or you get double trouble). Just witness, forgive and move on.”
