Jonty Skrufff is a DJ/ producer (with residencies at Sisyphos Berlin and Egg London (Berlin Berlin), radio show presenter, brand consultant (Pioneer DJ) and former music conference curator (Amsterdam Dance Event, Rio Music Conference (Brazil), Sochi Winter Music Conference, Russia and IPM (Rome Italy).
Starting DJing in London in 2004, he’s since performed in 35 countries and held additional residencies at clubs including London’s Fabric (DTPM) and Pacha Ibiza in the summer of 2009.
He’s also produced and presented weekly radio shows for Ministry of Sound Radio (2004-2008) before relocating to Berlin where he’s since joined BLN.FM, which broadcasts Berlin Soul every Friday evening. The weekly radio show is syndicated to Pioneer DJ Radio (Ibiza), Underground FG (France), and across Dance Paradise’s network of 57 FM stations in Brazil.
As a producer, he’s released on Sisyphos’ label Sisyphon and previously remixed the likes of Kidnap Kid (Black Butter), Yariv Bernstein (Punch Music) and Arthur Baker (Rockers Revenge) as well as coproducing tracks with then Radio 1 DJ Judge Jules.
His first ever remix, a tough techno version of Motor’s Death Rave, came out on T Raumschmiere’s Shitkatapult Records in 2009 and won a Qwartz Award (equivalent to a French Grammy).
Before taking up DJing and producing, he helped pioneer dance music journalism in the UK, joining ground breaking British magazine Muzik as lead feature writer for its launch in 1995, before leaving two years later to found EMI’s first global dance music portal Dancesite.com.

Going fully independent in 2001, he then set up his own press agency/ consultancy Skrufff Media, syndicating content to a global network of dance music portals including clients such as TrackItdown.net (UK), Pacha.com (Spain), InTheMix.com.au (Australia), HKClubbing.com (China) and Higher-Frequency.com (Japan) as well as publishing his weekly e-zine Skrufff-E. He started his daily blog Skrufff.com in 2010.
Supported by key opinion formers and tastemakers including the likes of the Pet Shop Boys, New Order (Peter Hook) and Laurent Garnier, he remains one of club culture’s most influential commentators, acclaimed as an ‘Industry guru’ (Resident Advisor) and “Dance music mogul’ (DJ Magazine).
In 2010, he also started consulting for music conferences, joining the world’s number one electronic music summit Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) as a curator. He also curated the international daytime program for Russia’s nightlife summit Sochi Winter Music Conference (SWMC) in 2012 and 2013 and regularly speaks on panels at international conferences worldwide.
